Tuxedo Sewer

Town of Tuxedo:  $9 million annual budget, no real economy, scattered businesses, highly dependent on property taxes and state aid for essential services and high school.  If Tuxedo Reserve was turned into New York State Park Land, how would the Town generate revenue to improve municipal infrastructure like the Water Treatment Facility? Nobody wants the town to issue traditional bonds and increase local taxes. Larger Image

Alt Proposal

Why offer an Alternative Proposal?  Residential development is failed model for economic growth.  Public/Private Partnerships to rebuild local infrastructure can produce municipal net revenues of $5MM/year, $50 million over 10 years, $100 million over 20 years - i.e., 30MW Biomass Facility, Waste-to-Energy facility, or Peak Power Generator.

Taylor Biomass

Public-private partnership model that can be replicated throughout State:  Renewable Energy, Co-Operative Utility for Town of Tuxedo and Village of Tuxedo Park; use IRS 29-09 Qualified Energy Conservation Bond to help build facilities and IRS 54D Co-Operative Utility Funds for ongoing operations ($800 million recently available, only $610 million applied for by co-ops) " >View Facility

Montgomery, NY

30MW wood chip Biomass facility; sell power at market rates to East Coast Power Grid, $55 to $80 per megawatt hour; 10MW at $55 equals $5.5 million per year for Town of Tuxedo; 30MW at $55-80 (3 months in summer at $80) equals $19.5 million per year for Biomass Facility.

Recycling Facility?

Site can be on 50 acres of proposed development; or at existing Tuxedo Organic Recycling Facility on Longmeadow Road. Benefit: Remove 4 stories of wood chips on Longmeadow Road, existing environmental hazard. Larger Image
